Alternative Tenerife Road Trip for Thomas Cook Magazine

I go down to Tenerife every year, which tells you what I think of this glorious Macaronesian island. It always amazes me that some people criticise the island who have never even been. Even more hypocritical are those who say it’s only good for a beach holiday who only lie on the beach when they visit.

Well the good news is that there is far more to the largest Canary Island than just great beaches and year round ace weather – welcome though they are! We are talking world class wine, boat fresh seafood, Spain’s highest mountain. UNESCO World Heritage sites and the world’s second largest Carnival, after Rio.

Thomas Cook recently asked me to write an alternative road trip article on Tenerife that opens up some of the less explored corners of the island. I hope it helps you discover another side to Tenerife if you have not been lucky enough to yet.
