Whether
you are looking for a full travel guidebook to an emerging destination,
a colourful travelogue or just a short filler I have an enormous amount
of material on file and can also write to order. Below is an idea of the
main types of writing I do. If you have any queries just email
me for further details.
Destination
Articles
Informative features on countries, city breaks or regions. These can take
in a mix of history, culture, tourist attractions, eating and drinking
options etc to suit each market. I have these on file for multiple destinations
and can also write to order.
Personal
Experience
Colourful first person travelogues. These can be anything from a tale
of white-eyed terror aboard the Trans-Siberian through to grappling with
crocs canoeing in Australia. Word counts can be anything from a detailed
personal account of a new country through to a shorter humorous 'traveller's
tale' piece.
Luxury
Travel
Over the last decade I have stayed in over 500 hotels ranging from bush
safari lodges in South Africa with their own plunge pools and over-water
luxury bungalows in Bora Bora, through to grand old dames like the Cipriani
in Venice. Individual hotel reviews are available as are 'round-ups' along
the lines of 'Top 10 Boutique Hotels', 'Rooms with a View' etc.
Railways
As Contributing Editor of International Railway Traveller and a regular
rail writer I have ridden on many of the world's great trains including
the Trans-Siberian, Silk Route, West Highland Line, Royal Scotsman, Orient
Express, Indian Pacific, The Ghan, Flying Scotsman, Rovos Rail, the Blue
Train, Eastern and Orient, Northern Belle, Desert Express and the Tranz-Alpine.
Other
Writing
Whatever you are looking for whether it is directly focused on travel
or not I have a breadth of experience and large store of copy. If you
are looking for something specific or want to discuss any ideas further,
whether you are a small start-up magazine or the editor of a successful
broadsheet, just pop me an email and let me know what you are looking
for.
